Welcome to the Amarillo Metropolitan Planning Organization

MPO Policy Committee meeting
1:30 pm on October 21, 2010
Room 306, City Hall, 509 SE 7th
The Amarillo Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is a federally mandated administrative agency responsible for coordination of the highway, transit, and land use planning process necessary to receive federal funds for highway and transit improvements. The purpose of the MPO is to provide local citizens and elected officials the opportunity to be involved in the transportation planning process. The Amarillo MPO consists of a Policy Committee, a Technical Committee, and the MPO staff. The MPO serves the city of Amarillo, parts of Potter and Randall Counties, and the Texas Department of Transportation Amarillo District. The MPO study area is comprised of nearly 360 square miles in the Texas Panhandle.
We all depend upon some form of transportation for the movement of goods, services, or people. We invite you to visit our website and to take an interest in transportation and how it impacts your daily routine. Your input into the transportation planning process is our first means of providing you with a dependable transportation system. Let us hear your comments and concerns.

Thank you.
